## Key points

- Fanvue has a public, written policy that allows AI creator accounts. OnlyFans’ terms only ask for an #ai caption on AI content.
- The CEO of OnlyFans and a big investor have both said publicly that fully AI accounts are banned.
- Neither statement comes from OnlyFans’ own Terms of Service. We found no rule there on accounts built around an invented persona.
- OnlyFans pays creators 80%. Fanvue’s standard rate is also 80%, down from 85% for its earliest creators.
- A separate, independent source reports that chatbot automation is against OnlyFans’ own terms.

If your persona is a character who does not exist, build on Fanvue. It officially allows AI creators, and you can open and read its policy. OnlyFans’ terms only ask you to caption AI content with a tag such as #ai, and its chief executive has said in public that there are no wholly AI accounts on the platform. That is why we work on Fanvue and recommend it. The name still points to OnlyFans: [what AI OFM is](https://aiofmcity.com/blog/what-is-ai-ofm) explains that OFM stands for OnlyFans Management.

## Fanvue officially allows AI creators

> Fanvue permits AI-generated content and requires disclosure of AI-generated media — in the profile bio, the content caption, or as a watermark. Its AI-content policy prohibits AI-generated media depicting any real person other than the account owner.

Here the platform states its own rule, in a document you can open right now. [Platforms and payouts](https://aiofmcity.com/guides/platforms-and-payouts) shows how to set up a Fanvue account for an AI persona on that basis.

## What OnlyFans' own terms say about AI

When this article was first written, OnlyFans' own terms could not be opened from here (see below). On 4 October 2026 its Terms of Service page did load. It contains one rule about AI content:

> AI Generated content must comply with our Terms of Service and must be clearly and conspicuously captioned as AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated.
>
> — Source: OnlyFans — Terms of Service, read 2026-10-04 — https://onlyfans.com/terms

So OnlyFans does have a written AI rule: you caption AI content with a tag such as #ai. We found no rule in those terms on whether an account built around an invented persona is allowed. [This site's second rule](https://aiofmcity.com/transparency#rule-02) explains why a summary by an agency blog or a forum post is not a source for a rule like that.

There are public statements, though. The chief executive of OnlyFans and one of its largest shareholders have each said in public what the platform allows and what it does not.

> Speaking at Bloomberg Tech London on 21 October 2025, OnlyFans CEO Keily Blair said there are no "wholly AI" accounts or tools available on OnlyFans, and that artificial intelligence cannot replace human-created content on the platform.

> James Sagan, founder of Architect Capital — which acquired a 16% stake in OnlyFans for $535 million in May 2026 — said on 14 August 2026 that the platform "will never use AI in any capacity to disrupt creators," and specifically would "never" use generative AI "to disintermediate the creators, never to automate chats." The same report states OnlyFans has banned fully AI-generated accounts.

> OnlyFans' terms of service explicitly prohibit chatbots used to impersonate creators in subscriber messages.

These are three independent statements, ten months apart. They all say the same thing: no fully AI accounts and no chat automation. That is much stronger than one blog's summary of "the rules". But none of the three is OnlyFans' own policy text, and the terms themselves only ask for the #ai caption.

### What the sources do not say: Reading OnlyFans' own Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy directly

The right way to write this article is to cite OnlyFans' own policy text, the same way the Fanvue section above cites Fanvue's. That was tried and it did not work. `onlyfans.com/terms` and `onlyfans.com/aup` do not load in the tool this site is built with. An archive.org copy of each page does not load either.

So until 4 October 2026, every claim about OnlyFans in this article was a reported statement. On that day the terms page loaded, and its AI rule is now quoted above. The other three statements are still reported. One comes from the CEO, one from an investor, and one from an independent encyclopedia entry that refers to the terms without quoting them. None of them is a first-hand reading of the policy document. That is a real gap. It is named here openly, so that no citation looks more solid than it is.

## What share Fanvue and OnlyFans keep

> Creators are paid 80% of subscription and message fees; OnlyFans takes the remaining 20%.

> The 85% earning rate offered to creators who joined Fanvue in 2022 ended, moving those accounts to Fanvue's standard 80% rate.

At the time of writing, both platforms have the same split: 80% for the creator and 20% for the platform. The difference is whether your account is allowed to exist at all.

| Aspect | Fanvue | OnlyFans |

## Which platform to choose for an AI persona

If you plan to earn subscription income with a character who does not exist, choose Fanvue. It says yes in a policy you can read. OnlyFans' terms only ask for an #ai caption, and two public statements ten months apart say no to fully AI accounts: one by its CEO and one by a big investor. An independent source also reports that its terms ban chat automation, and a lot of persona work depends on chat automation.

This says nothing against OnlyFans as a platform for real creators. Its size and its payout numbers are not in question, and this article is not about anyone who uses it as themselves. It is only about what this site covers: an account built around a character who was never a person. The CEO and the investor were both talking about exactly this kind of account.

Before you sign up on Fanvue, read two pages. [Is Fanvue legit](https://aiofmcity.com/blog/is-fanvue-legit) covers the company, its payout terms and where it can get difficult. [Fanvue verification and KYC](https://aiofmcity.com/blog/fanvue-verification-kyc) covers what Fanvue asks of the real person behind the account. [What AI OFM is](https://aiofmcity.com/blog/what-is-ai-ofm) explains why the name still says OnlyFans.

## Frequently asked

### Does OnlyFans allow AI-generated creators?

Not if the account is fully AI. OnlyFans' terms ask for AI-generated content to be captioned with a tag such as #ai. They do not say that an invented persona may run an account. Its CEO said at Bloomberg Tech London in October 2025 that there are no "wholly AI" accounts or tools on the platform. A big investor said in August 2026 that the platform "has banned fully AI-generated accounts."

### Does Fanvue allow AI-generated creators?

Yes, and it says so officially. Fanvue’s AI-content policy allows AI-generated media. You have to label it as AI. AI-generated media that shows a real person is not allowed, unless that person is the account owner.

### What percentage do OnlyFans and Fanvue take?

OnlyFans keeps 20% and pays creators 80%, according to its Wikipedia entry, which cites the platform. Fanvue’s standard rate is also 80% as of May 2026. Its earlier 85% rate for creators who joined in 2022 has ended.

### Can I use an AI chatbot to reply to messages on OnlyFans?

The evidence says no. Wikipedia’s entry on OnlyFans says its terms of service explicitly ban chatbots. An OnlyFans investor said in August 2026 that the platform would "never" use AI "to automate chats." Fanvue is different: it publishes its own guidance on AI-assisted messaging.
