AI disclaimer generator: copy-ready lines per platform
Pick the platform and the kind of post. You get the AI setting that platform asks for, and an AI-generated disclaimer line you can copy into the bio or the caption.
This is not legal advice. The lines are our wording, written to meet the published platform rules and the EU AI Act. They show which rule each line answers. No page can tell you that you follow the law.

No post label is required for AI images. Meta labels some AI images itself from the file’s metadata. The account label covers the persona.

Make it the first thing people see
For people in the EU, the label has to be clear the first time someone sees the content (Article 50(5) of the AI Act). A bio line alone is not enough. Put the line at the very start of the caption, or a small mark on the image or video itself:
AI-generated
Outside the EU the rules differ by country. In the US, no federal law says you have to label AI content, as our US article explains. The platform’s own setting applies wherever you post. If even a few of your followers are in the EU, choose Yes or Not sure above.
Which platforms need their own AI setting
The text line is the same everywhere. The setting is not. This is what each platform asks for, by kind of post. The label matrix has the exact wording and what happens if you skip it.

How to use the AI disclaimer generator
- Choose the platform and what you are posting. Run it once for each platform you use: one platform’s setting does not switch on another’s.
- Do step 1 in the app first. The setting is the part platforms check.
- Copy the line into the place step 2 names. Type the persona name if you want a line that names her.
- If any of your audience is in the EU, follow step 3: the line or a mark goes where people see it first.
- Use Copy link to this result to keep the result, for example for a chatter who posts for you.
A worked example
A persona called Mara posts a video on Fanvue. Some of her fans are in Germany and France. The generator gives:
- Platform setting
- Required
- Where the line goes
- the caption, or as a watermark
- Line
- AI-generated video.
- With her name
- AI-generated video. Mara is not a real person.
- Mark on the video
- AI-generated
The AI Creator account type shows the “AI” tag beside her name. Fanvue still wants a label on the content itself, so the line goes in the caption, and for the EU fans a small “AI-generated” mark goes on the video.

The EU AI Act. If you publish a deepfake, you have to say it is AI, clearly and at the latest when people first see it. A photorealistic image of an invented person counts, as the EU compliance guide explains:
Art. 50(4): "Deployers of an AI system that generates or manipulates image, audio or video content constituting a deep fake, shall disclose that the content has been artificially generated or manipulated." Art. 50(5): the information shall be provided "in a clear and distinguishable manner at the latest at the time of the first interaction or exposure."
Fanvue. The account tag is not the whole label. Fanvue names the three places the label can go, which is why the generator offers the caption and the watermark:
Creators must disclose AI-generated media in the “profile bio, content caption, or as a watermark on the media itself”. Not disclosing risks removal of the content and suspension of the account.

Instagram. The setting matters more than the line. Meta asks persona accounts to switch on the profile label:
“Creators can and should apply the label by editing their profile and toggling on AI-generated profile.” Creators who do not label AI-generated profiles “may see limits to their profile’s reach”.

The rest of the platforms. TikTok, YouTube, X and Reddit are in the AI label matrix, each with its source. The generator reads the setting from the same table, so the two pages give the same answer.

Questions people ask
What should an AI-generated content disclaimer say?
Say plainly that the content is AI-generated, and for a persona, that she is not a real person. "AI-generated character. Not a real person." works in a bio. "AI-generated image." works as the first line of a caption. Then switch on the platform’s own AI setting as well, because a line of text does not replace it.
Where should the AI disclaimer go?
Where people see it first. For people in the EU, Article 50(5) of the AI Act says the label has to be clear the first time someone sees the content, so a line at the end of a bio is not enough. Put it on the image or video, or at the start of the caption, and set the platform’s label.
Do I need an AI disclaimer on Instagram images?
Meta does not ask you to label AI-generated images with the post label. It does ask an account that regularly posts an AI-generated person to switch on "AI-generated profile". For people in the EU, a visible line or mark on the post is still the safer choice.
Is a hashtag like #ai enough as a disclaimer?
Not on its own on most platforms. A hashtag at the end of a long caption is easy to miss, and platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Fanvue have their own setting or label that a hashtag does not switch on. Use the platform setting and a short line people can read.
Is this AI disclaimer generator legal advice?
No. It is general information from the published platform rules and the EU AI Act, written by an operator. It tells you which rule each line is meant to meet. It cannot tell you that you follow the law. Ask a lawyer for your own case.
