In short

  • Agencies and chatters are meant to work through Fanvue's manager accounts, not through the creator's own login.
  • A manager account cannot access payouts, change the creator's email or password, or delete the account.
  • Team members can use the feed, messages and the vault, but cannot delete or post content.
  • Fanvue can pay an agency its percentage directly as a payment split. The creator can disconnect the agency at any time.
  • None of the Fanvue documents read for this article says whether fans must be told that someone other than the creator is writing.

Fanvue (affiliate link, opens in a new tab) has a built-in way for an agency or manager to work on a creator’s account. It is the only way its agency terms allow. The agency gets a separate manager account, and the creator invites it. The people who answer messages are added under it as team members. You do not give anyone your password. Below you see what each role can do, and the one question FanvueFanvue Fanvue is a subscription content platform that officially allows AI creators and labels them as AI. The table is put together from the two Fanvue documents quoted below.

Manager accounts let agencies and managers oversee multiple creator profiles from a single login, but “can’t access payouts, change the account’s email or password, or delete the account.” A manager signs up with an email address not previously used on Fanvue, and the creator sends the invitation from Settings, Management. Team members sign up through the regular Fanvue sign-up and are invited by the manager; they have access to the main feed, messages and the vault, and “cannot delete or post content”. Only one manager account can be assigned per creator. On adding several administrators, the page says: “A temporary workaround is to share login credentials for the manager account.”

A manager cannot touch the two things that matter most: your money and your login. The person who answers messages cannot redirect a payout or lock you out. Those are the things people fear most from an agency.

There is one weak point: the workaround for several administrators. If they share one manager login, every action looks as if one person did it. When something goes wrong, you cannot tell who did it.

What Fanvue’s agency terms allow and forbid

The agency may “manage messaging, content uploads, pricing, and operational duties on their behalf”, under the rule: “Only access the Creator’s account using Fanvue-approved agency functionality and not via direct login.” Among the things it must not do: “Impersonate the Creator in a misleading way” and “Prevent or obstruct the Creator from accessing or controlling their account.” Under section 4.1, “The Creator authorises Fanvue to allocate a percentage of their earnings directly to the Agency”, and “Fanvue is not a party to any financial or service agreement between the Creator and Agency beyond the platform-level configuration of Payment Splits.” The creator may end the arrangement “at any time” by disconnecting, after which “the Creator will retain 100% of their earnings.”

This means three things for you.

  1. If an agency asks for your password, it asks for something Fanvue’s own agency terms do not allow. The proper way works through an invitation, not a password. AI OFM agency vs solo covers the kinds of deal that should worry you.
  2. The payment split is the clean way to pay an agency. The percentage is set on the platform. To end it you disconnect, and you do not have to negotiate. The deal itself, meaning what the agency does for that percentage, stays between you and the agency. Fanvue says so.
  3. You can disconnect whenever you want. An agency that makes this hard goes against the clause on obstructing the creator’s control.

Do fans have to be told a chatter is writing?

Human chatters and AI messaging tools do similar work, but they raise different questions. Fanvue AI chatbot rules covers Fanvue’s own AI messaging features and the EU labelling question that comes with them. Fanvue’s documents say less about people who write as the persona.

Content “must be properly disclosed if generated using AI or synthetic tools”, and users may not “impersonate us, one of our employees, another User, or any other person or company”. Enforcement for breaches of the policy includes suspending or terminating accounts, and Fanvue may “Revoke Creator Balance or User Balance in part or in full”.

What the sources do not say

Finding Fanvue's rule on telling fans a chatter is writing

Agencies and creators ask whether a fan has to be told when a chatter, not the creator, is writing. Fanvue’s own documents do not give a clear answer.

The Acceptable Use Policy says AI-generated content has to be labelled as AI and forbids impersonating another person. It says nothing about staff who write for a creator. The Agency–Talent Agreement lets an agency manage messaging and forbids impersonating the creator “in a misleading way”. It does not say what makes it misleading. The help page on manager accounts describes permissions. It does not say what fans must be told.

So this article does not claim an answer either way. If your messaging depends on it, ask Fanvue support in writing and keep the reply.

Setting it up so nobody needs your password

  1. The agency creates a manager account with an email address that has never been used on Fanvue.
  2. You send the invitation from Settings, Management. They accept it while logged in as the manager.
  3. The manager invites each chatter as a team member, with the email that chatter signed up with.
  4. Agree the percentage in writing first, then set up the split, so that what Fanvue pays out matches the contract.
  5. Find the disconnect option before you need it.

Fanvue is the easy part, because manager and team accounts give every helper their own login. On Instagram or TikTok, a chatter who also posts for you often logs in from another country. Proxy for multiple Instagram accounts explains when one fixed location per account helps, and when shared access is the better fix. Our partner Shift Proxies sells static ISP proxies for that. Do not put Fanvue itself behind a proxy or VPN.

Read two things before the first chatter logs in. How money is made on Fanvue explains why messaging is the job agencies are hired for. That tells you what you are handing over. Fanvue account suspended explains what happens to a shared account when something goes wrong.

Questions people ask

How do Fanvue manager accounts work?

An agency or manager signs up for a separate manager account. The creator invites it from Settings, Management. After that the manager oversees the connected creator profiles from one login. A manager account cannot access payouts, change the creator's email or password, or delete the account.

Can chatters work on a Fanvue account?

Yes, as team members under a manager account. They sign up as normal Fanvue users and the manager invites them. Fanvue's help centre says they can use the main feed, messages and the vault, but cannot delete or post content.

Can an agency log in to a creator's Fanvue account directly?

Not under Fanvue's Agency–Talent Agreement. It says the agency may only access the creator's account through Fanvue-approved agency functionality and not via direct login.

Do fans have to be told that a chatter is writing?

None of the Fanvue documents read for this article has a rule on it. The Agency–Talent Agreement forbids impersonating the creator in a misleading way, but it does not say what misleading means. Ask Fanvue in writing before you rely on either reading.
