Higgsfield review for AI personas: Soul ID and credits
Higgsfield for AI personas: how Soul ID keeps one face the same, what the monthly credits buy, the rules on real faces and NSFW, and who should skip it.

Pricing
From €19 a month billed annually for 270 credits (Starter), as read on the pricing page on 5 October 2026. Credits reset every billing cycle and need an active plan.
This price comes from the vendor's own pricing page, on the date shown with it. These tools often rename their plans and change prices, so check before you pay.
Worth the money if
You want one consistent face in minutes without training anything. You would rather use a ready-made browser app with presets than an API. And you generate often enough to use each month’s credits before they reset.
Not for you if
You generate in bursts, so you would lose the credits you do not use. You want to own model weights for your character that you can take to other tools. Or your persona needs content that the safety filters block, and you cannot override those filters.
What Higgsfield does
Higgsfield is a hosted studio for generating images and video. It runs other companies’ image and video models in one browser interface with presets. Among them are Nano Banana, Seedream, Kling, Seedance, Veo, Wan and MiniMax. It adds its own character tool, Soul ID, and you pay for all of it with a monthly credit subscription. We have used it for persona work. This page sticks to what Higgsfield’s own pages say, and what that means if you run an AI persona.
Soul ID: how Higgsfield keeps one face the same
A Soul ID is trained from 20 or more photos of the same person, up to 80, well lit, showing the face from different angles and expressions, without sunglasses, heavy shadows or cropped faces, and including at least one full-height photo. Training takes a few minutes. The character works across Higgsfield’s Soul models and appears as an Element in Seedance video generation. Higgsfield asks users to upload only photos of themselves or of someone who has given permission to use their likeness.

For a generated persona, those twenty photos are your own reference set. The same rules apply as for any identity method: varied angles, neutral light, and images with the head tilted, because a weak face breaks there first. The character consistency guide covers how to build that set.
Two things follow from how Soul ID works.
First, the permission rule means you cannot use it on photos of a real person who has not agreed. We think it is the right rule. This site gives the same advice for every persona, whatever the tool.
Second, Soul ID builds the face from your reference photos. The technical name is reference-conditioned identity. It is fast, you need no training setup, and the face carries into video. But you do not get model weights that you could take to another tool. Tools of this kind also tend to pull faces towards their own default look over time. The guide’s section on trained versus reference-conditioned identity explains the pros and cons.
Higgsfield pricing and credits
Higgsfield’s Starter plan is €19 per month billed annually and carries a fixed 270 credits per month, which it states is 135 Nano Banana Pro generations or roughly 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos, with access to Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini. The Plus plan is €59 monthly, or €47 billed annually, for 1,200 credits, stated as 600 Nano Banana Pro generations or about 80 Seedance 2.5 videos, with access to all Seedance models.
Every generation costs credits depending on the model, resolution and duration, and the cost is shown on the Generate button before confirming. Subscription credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and cannot be used without an active subscription. Credit packs and automatic refills are available on top.

Do the sums for the Starter plan, billed annually in euros: €19 a month for 135 Nano Banana Pro generations is about €0.14 each. WaveSpeed lists the same model at $0.14 in US dollars, pay as you go. The currencies and the billing differ, but the subscription does not make generation cheaper. You pay for the interface, the presets, Soul ID and not having to touch an API. That can be worth paying for. Just be clear that this is what you are buying. What AI video models cost makes the same comparison for video, and the model price table shows the per-output prices side by side.
How you work decides which is cheaper. If you generate steadily, you use up the credits. If you generate in bursts (nothing for three weeks, then two hundred frames in a weekend), you lose the unused credits in every billing cycle.
Higher plans unlock every model on the platform and let several generations run at the same time. On individual plans, subscription credits reset each billing cycle. A refund is possible within 7 days of the initial purchase if no credits have been used, with a service fee of up to 6%.

Commercial use, training and NSFW rules
Higgsfield does not claim ownership of inputs or outputs, and commercial use is permitted on all plans, including social media content, with no attribution required. Outputs may not be used to train or fine-tune AI models, except models trained on the user’s own inputs or with written permission, and uploading images of other people requires their permission.

Higgsfield’s pricing page says something different for the Free plan:
Plan comparison, “Access & Features”: the row “Commercial use” reads “Not included” for Free and “Included” for Starter, Plus and Ultra.
The help page and the plan table contradict each other. If you plan to earn money with the images, make them on a paid plan, and save a copy of both pages with the date you read them.
The training rule matters most. A common plan is to generate a strong set of images in a hosted tool and then train a LoRA (a small add-on model for your character) on them. Before you do that with Higgsfield outputs, check whether your case falls under the exception.
NSFW flags can come from Higgsfield’s own safety system or from an external model provider’s, both screen prompts and uploaded images, and both can produce false positives. For most models, credits for generations that fail on an NSFW flag are returned automatically, but Higgsfield cannot manually override a classifier’s decision.

In practice you cannot argue with the filters, even when they are wrong. If your persona’s content is close to what a classifier reads as explicit, expect failed generations that you cannot appeal. For the SFW persona work this site covers, that is rarely a problem.
The help pages we read do not say whether Higgsfield outputs carry C2PA Content Credentials. Those are data inside the file that record how it was made. The EU AI Act makes the generator’s maker put such markers in. It does not ban you from removing them. Keep them anyway: platforms read them to label your posts automatically, and a generator’s terms may forbid removing them. So check one exported file with a manifest inspector before you build a pipeline around it. Don’t strip your watermarks shows how.
